First Goodbye
Although I haven’t known you for too long
You are my oldest, dearest friend
That is why I write you this song
In hopes that my feelings I clearly send
I have been strong in look and mind.
My heart, though, has been breaking
You can leave for a new life to find,
But my heart you must be taking.
It’s hardest to say the first goodbye
Hush, be quiet—don’t cry
Goodbye not forever, but for long.
Be calm stop shaking—show him you’re strong.
I will miss your house and all our memories
I will most of all miss you.
But you’ll miss all your friends and enemies
I hope that you miss me too
But not all my sorrow is about
Such a silly insignificant thing
You’ll understand, no doubt,
That you are my only king,
And
I am your only queen.
It’s hardest to say the first goodbye . . .
Stop dreaming—you did try.
Goodbye not forever, but for long . . .
Be collected, stop sulking—sadness is wrong.
I’ve been dreading this day, loathing this
day.
I wish it had already come and passed.
I’d been dreaming that there’d be some way
you’d stay
But what I will tell you will be the last.
I love you, I will always love you.
That will never change my friend,
I have always believed our love to be true
And I hope it will never end.
It’s hardest to say the first goodbye . . .
Go ahead, let it out—it’s okay to cry
Goodbye
not forever, but for long . . .
I feel better now after writing you this song

Wedding Day
Remember
that sunny day
In the merry month of May?
It was a very special evening in every way
It
was our wedding day.
But now you’ve gone away.
Forever to be a stray.
But you promised me you’d stay
In
our vows of our wedding day.
Now life is dull and gray,
Not
even a lighted ray,
To help me be okay
So
I could forget about our wedding day.
Now to you, all I say
If
you want me, I’ll be at bay
Relaxing and trying to enjoy every day
Forgetting
my vows of our wedding day.
